HDO stands for Haystack Distribution of OpenTag and forms the foundation for The Haystack. OpenTag, the open source firmware stack for DASH7, is the smallest, fastest open source stack for low power wireless networks available today.
HDO provides developers with a certified distribution of OpenTag, maintained and updated by the team that authored the DASH7 Mode 2 specification as well as OpenTag itself, giving companies confidence that their DASH7implementation will not require constant interaction with the open source community to ensure compatibility with future versions of OpenTag but instead delegating this work to Haystack.
HDO Features include:
Certified distribution of OpenTag, the open source firmware library for DASH7
Smaller and faster than any other standards-based embedded RF stack
Complete DASH7 Mode 2 protocol stack including PHY, MAC, network, transport, session management, filesystem, and API layers
Built on a lightweight, event-based RTOS which can also manage user-defined applications, high-level protocol layers (e.g. CoAP), or interchangeable applets.
Includes NDEF-based messaging interface for serial or USB
Support for popular embedded low-power RF silicon platforms (MCU + RF)
Tested, fixed, and updated regularly for Haystack subscribers many months in advance of open source users
